SEYMOUR, Conn — The team at ACI Dynamics, a one-stop car custom car shop, is gearing up for a goodwill event this Saturday. ACI, which has a garage full of exotic dream cars, is teaming up with Dog Star Rescue and The Cheshire-based Hometown Foundation for the upcoming “Puppies and Horsepower” event at the Farmington Polo Club.
“You come out to a car show and you see some awesome exotic cars, you get to see some awesome pups and maybe take one home – what’s better than that?” said Bryce Atkas, the owner of ACI Dynamics.
Dan McCabe, the president of Bloomfield-based Dog Star Rescue, said he expects 60 dogs who need a home will be on hand.
“Bringing car people in, a lot of those people are also interested in dogs, and we are hoping we can get our dogs some nice homes,” McCabe said.
Jenn McCulloch, the assistant director of the Hometown Foundation, noted that the adoption event will have more than just the dream cars on hand.
“We are going to have food trucks and music and an arena polo match as well.” McCulloch added, “We want to give people a great day, get some dogs adopted and raise some money.”
The Puppies and Horsepower event takes place on Saturday, May 18 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Farmington Polo Club. General admission tickets are $20 each, to learn more, click here.
