BURLINGTON, Conn — Cider season shows no signs of stopping at Hogan’s Cider Mill in Burlington, where after a busy October, the lead-up to Christmas and New Year’s still brings visitors from around the world and social media.
“It’s just a magical environment here around the holidays, people come visit with their families and become a part of this holiday tradition to spend that family time with us,” said Margaret Borla, the cider mill manager and one of the family members who own Hogan’s.
Her father, Chet Dunlop, is the owner of Hogan’s and the head cider maker. Dunlop said that he and the team have greeted guests in Burlington from all over these past few weeks.
“This year we’ve had every state but North Dakota and Hawaii – we’ve never gotten Hawaii. We had Canada and Mexico, and we had a diplomatic plate from the Philippines,” Dunlop noted.
“We have had many guests from Europe this fall, South America, and from all over the U.S.,” Borla added.
Borla said the cider mill has become famous both on Instagram and TikTok: “I would say social media has really been helping us grow our business, about 80% of our customers have found us on social media."
This year, Hogan’s Cider Mill in Burlington will stay open through New Year’s Day. They are open Thursday – Sunday and still press apples on certain days. To learn more, click here.
