EAST HAMPTON, Conn. — The fall feels are all around in East Hampton, but they are especially strong at Pumpkintown USA.
The family-owned storefront and farm attraction is open once again for the season, attracting families from around the region.
Dan Peszynski is the owner of Pumpkintown USA and the connected Paul’s and Sandy’s Too – a general store selling all things autumnal.
“This is the time of year, it just comes to life with all the fall decorating and, of course, the entertainment we provide," Peszynski said. "Pumpkins, apples, apple cider and most important are the apple cider donuts we make right here on our site.”
Peszynski also noted that 2024 is a much better year for pumpkins than last year where weather woes hurt the crop. Pumpkintown relies on local growers to supply them with thousands of pumpkins and gourds each fall.
Peszynski said, “Last year, the growing season was very tough for the local farms with all the flooding along the river, it was a tremendous challenge for local growers. This year it’s a little challenging but not as bad so the pumpkin crop is looking really good.”
Pumpkintown features its Pumpkin Village – just what it sounds like – a town setting where all the characters are pumpkin people. “The Ride” is a mile car trip that is narrated and takes visitors through different scenes with pumpkin characters spread throughout. This year, Pumpkintown has also brought back its popular hayride.
“This is the time to come, it’s a tradition and it’s pumpkin weather,” said Bella Peszynski, Dan’s 22-year-old daughter.
