New York-based building manufacturer relocating to Connecticut, promising more than $8M investment

The company expects to bring at least 100 new jobs to the state.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. — A company that specializes in designing, manufacturing and constructing modular buildings is set to relocate its U.S. headquarters from Brooklyn, N.Y. to Hamden, state officials announced Monday.

FullStack Modular will move its headquarters from the Brooklyn Navy Yard to 30 Edmund St., Gov. Ned Lamont and company officials said during an announcement at New Haven’s Gateway Terminal on Monday.

The company, which specializes in constructing mid-and high-rise multi-family buildings, hotels and student housing, said it would invest $8 million $12 million into Connecticut. This investment includes jobs and manufacturing housing for the local workforce.

FullStack founder and president Roger Krulak said during a news conference on Monday that the company needed to move out of Brooklyn for various of reasons and after looking up and down the East Coast

“And Connecticut just made the most sense,” he said. “And the teamwork and the effort that they made was all we needed to know that this was the right place to be the next home.”

Officials said the company expects to bring at least 100 new jobs to the state. They will begin by hiring between 25 to 35 new workers with an additional 75 to 80 by the end of the year, according to Krulak.

Lamont said in a statement on Monday that the greater New Haven community is the “perfect fit for an innovative company like FullStack modular.”

“I look forward to seeing their continued growth here,” he added.

During a news conference on Monday, Hamden Mayor Lauren Garrett said it was very exciting to welcome the company’s U.S. headquarters to the town.

“We are very excited about the jobs. We are very excited about affordable housing because we have a housing shortage in Connecticut,” she said. “So, you went to where the people are.”
