EAST HAMPTON, Conn. — It is among Connecticut’s most popular Halloween attractions, but Pumpkintown USA has pivoted for the holiday season.
For the second year in a row, the team at Pumpkintown USA and their general store and garden center “Paul’s and Sandy’s Too” have transformed their famed one-mile Halloween Ride into one that caters to the Christmas holiday.
“It’s called the Christmas Ride at Pumpkintown,” said Dan Peszynski, the co-owner of Pumpkintown USA.
For their bottom line, Peszynski noted that offering something that brings more visitors to Pumpkintown and the store, Paul’s and Sandy’s, during the winter has been a bonus.
“Of course, this time of year we’re are busy selling trees, wreaths, poinsettias, and garland – everything you need inside to decorate your house, and now with the edition of the Christmas Ride we added, we kind of tied in the entertainment business with our main business," he said.
Peszynski also said that because the Christmas Ride at Pumpkintown is only offered during the day, it especially caters to families from across the state.
“Last year was the first year of the Christmas Ride, we got a great response from it and this year it’s an even better response, it is great family entertainment -- spreading holiday cheer for sure," said Peszynski.
The Christmas Ride at Pumpkintown runs on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday during the holiday season. It is closed on Christmas Day but open from Dec. 26 through New Year’s Day. To learn more, click here.
