CONNECTICUT, USA — As Connecticut continues to reopen, businesses are staffing up. Employers around the state are looking for workers.
On Tuesday, Diversity-X is holding the Hartford Virtual Diversity Career Fair to help people get back to work. The career fair says it's geared toward minorities, members of the LGBTQIA+ community and people with disabilities.
More than 25 employers are taking part, and job seekers will be interviewed on the spot. It's happening on May 25 from 11 to 2.
Lazer Scapes LLC is looking for team members for its growing tree company.
The company says it's hiring ground workers, bucket truck operators, Commercial Driver License drivers and those with tree work experience or a willingness to learn.
Employees can make 20-dollars an hour, and get a $500 signing bonus if you have a CDL.
Verizon is looking to fill more than a thousand new retail roles from coast to coast, including here in Connecticut.
The positions are in retail sales and network and security, just to name a few. The company offers benefits including tuition assistance, healthcare, and training.
And Firestone is looking for people to fill spots as automotive technicians… and in sales and management.
