WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — The latest on a long list of things to reopen post-COVID-19 is your local theater.
The old movie house is all new at West Hartford's Cinépolis at Blue Back Square.
"We’ve had to adapt through many challenges, not just what we went through, but how to keep people safe," Jose Rivera told FOX61.
The company had to think outside the box when Cinépolis closed – along with everything else last year.
When they couldn't fill the seats during the pandemic, the theater took time to reinvent the experience again, in preparation for guests who are now coming back to fill the seats.
Officials say they redesigned the food and drink menu, created a new culinary team, and received better technology for guests and employees.
With the new Cinépolis, officials are hoping to give you more than just an escape from home – finally – they want you to feel at home
Talk about a blockbuster idea.
