WALLINGFORD, Conn — For WorkinCT today, FOX61's Margaux Farrell headed to Wallingford to visit a local gem serving up sandwiches for the past 38 years.
Meet the king! You can’t miss him, or the giant sandwich outside of Vinny’s Deli.
“We try to have fun here,” said Vinny Lannuzzi, owner of Vinny’s Deli. “Making sandwiches could be pretty boring if you don’t have fun with it.”
And according to the staff, this place is the king of all things surf and turf!
“Roast beef and lobster is really what we are known for,” said Lannuzzi. “But, there’s a lot of other stuff that’s very good, a lot of home recipes that we have here.”
The fresh all-natural roast beef has made this deli a local staple, earning years and years of awards, and hosting celebrities from all over.
“Fresh fresh fresh,” said Lannuzzi. “We know when we cook it, we know when it was made, and how long.”
From good food to even better people, Vinny and his staff hope you’ll come for the grub, and keep coming back for more.
“At Vinny’s deli, we give you an experience like no other,” said manager, Olivia Broadway. “We really treat everybody is like family, the community is our family, and we love to give back to them.”
Plus all month long, you can get a sandwich for a good cause.
“Carly Strong is the St. Patty’s Day sandwich. It’s available all March,” said Lannuzzi. “It’s just to bring awareness and help the family of a girl who is 27 and battling cancer.”
