A card skimmer was found at this store in Norwich

The Dollar General manager at the 313 West Main Street location found a card skimmer at the store earlier this week.

NORWICH, Conn. — Shoppers who recently visited one of the Dollar General locations in Norwich are urged to check their credit card accounts after a skimmer was found at one of the cash registers.

The Dollar General manager at the 313 West Main Street location found a card skimmer at the store around 3:45 p.m. Monday, according to city police.

Police believe it was placed on the machine "in the past 24 hours." The skimmer was taken in as evidence for the police investigation.

Customers who recently used a card at the Norwich Dollar General are asked to check for any suspicious activities on their accounts.

This is an ongoing police investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Norwich Police Department at 860-886-5561, ext. 6.
