NEW BRITAIN, Conn. — Multigrain bread made by New Britain-based Roly Poly Bakery is being voluntarily recalled as officials discovered the product contains eggs, but the label does not mention it as an ingredient.
The affected product is the 20 oz. loaves of Roly Poly Bakery multigrain bread, which were sold before April 11, according to the state's Department of Consumer Protection (DCP).
These bread loaves were sold at Polmart and New Britain Market Place in New Britain. Bernat's Polish Meat Products in Chicopee, Mass., and Golemo Market in Worcester, Mass., also carried the affected products.
Customers with an egg allergy or sensitivity should not eat the product. The DCP has not received any reports of illnesses from this product.
Customers can either throw out the affected bread or return it to where they got it for a full refund.
