Canton students deliver 400 Valentine's Day cards to frontline workers

Students from Canton Intermediate School and Cherry Brook Primary School made the cards as a way to show their thanks to frontline workers.

FARMINGTON, Conn. — A group of kids in Canton delivered handmade Valentine’s Day cards to frontline workers at John Dempsey Hospital on Sunday afternoon.

Students from Canton Intermediate School and Cherry Brook Primary School made 400 Valentine’s Day cards in total as a way to show their thanks to frontline workers.

“I want people to know that we’re thankful for them working during the pandemic for us and keeping us safe,” said 9-year-old Isla Jamieson.

This is the second year students in Canton participated in showing their support for Valentine’s Day.

“I wanted to give them happiness for the risks they took for us,” said 8-year-old Emily Brown.

The students also visited other local hospitals, police stations and a grocery store to deliver their cards.
