HARTFORD, Conn. — A woman living in Hartford was arrested for allegedly killing her roommate and calling her in as missing to police while living in Florida.
Police from Orlando, Fla. recently traveled to Hartford and arrested Gisselle Victoria-Gonzalez, 42, in connection to the 2022 disappearance and death of her roommate in Orlando, Runyleidy Medina-Pacheco, who was 42 at the time.
Police responded to a residence on the 6200 block of Curry Ford Road in Orlando on Dec. 27, 2022, after Victoria-Gonzalez reported Medina-Pacheco missing, saying she hadn't seen Medina-Pacheco since Christmas Day.
During the investigation, Orlando police found "numerous inconsistencies" in the events Victoria-Gonzalez would tell investigators. When investigators searched the residence, they found evidence that violence took place there, according to police.
Investigators determined Victoria-Gonzalez was now living in Hartford. Police from Orlando traveled to Hartford to interview her and later made an arrest.
Victoria-Gonzalez was charged with second-degree murder, tampering with physical evidence and grand theft.
Hartford police assisted with the investigation, Orlando police said.
Medina-Pacheco's body has not been found. Police in Orlando continue to investigate this case and ask residents with information to call in a tip to the Orlando Police Department Homicide Unit or call Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS (8477).
