HARTFORD, Conn. — An arrest was made Friday in connection to a 2022 Hartford homicide, Hartford police said Deaudrienne Keith was charged with murder and taken into custody without incident.
At approximately 4:29 p.m. on June 15, 2022, Hartford police patrol officers responded to Martin Street after a body was found. Police said responding officers located the body of a deceased man behind the building.
The victim, 54-year-old Brian Knighton, lived in the home and had been assaulted, according to investigators from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
The Hartford Police Major Crimes and Crime Scene Divisions responded and took over the investigation, police said, adding that after an 18-month investigation, Keith was determined to be the suspect.
Police said that after probable cause was established, an arrest warrant was approved for Keith, who lived at the same residence as Knighton.
On Friday, members of the Hartford Police Fugitive Task Force, Violent Crimes Unit, Auto Theft Unit, and the U.S. Marshal Service found Keith and took him into custody without incident, police said.
Keith is charged with murder and faces a $750,000 bond, according to police.
