BLOOMFIELD, Conn. — New photos of the vehicle believed to have been used by a homicide suspect were released by Bloomfield police on Tuesday as a dragnet continues.
Officials said a white-colored Hyundai Tucson with a GLS trim package - probably a 2014 or 2015 - was used in the killing of 31-year-old Timothy Ross on Monday morning.
According to police, Ross was sitting in his car at the intersection of Cottage Grove Road and Bloomfield Ave., around 9 a.m. when he was shot multiple times. The suspect - who is still on the run - got into the Hyundai and fled.
Ross was taken to Saint Francis Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Officials said Ross was the parent to a student at a Bloomfield school.
At the time of the homicide, police believed the vehicle had a South Carolina license plate, however, a video from nearby surveillance showed it did not have a rear registration plate on it. The vehicle may have been parked or driving in the area along Cottage Grove Road and Bloomfield Ave., before the shooting. Area residents and businesses with surveillance cameras are asked to review their footage in case they may have filmed the suspect or the suspect vehicle.
Bloomfield police are asking for any witnesses to the shooting or who might have seen the suspect to contact the department at 860-242-5501.
