A former Glastonbury police officer suspected of burglarizing more than 30 businesses in multiple states is facing yet another burglary charge, this time in Stratford.
Patrick Hemingway, 37, was arrested Tuesday for allegedly breaking into Biagio Osteria, an Italian restaurant in the Ryders Landing shopping center, and stealing $500 from two cash registers inside.

According to an arrest warrant, police were called to the restaurant in the early hours of April 20, 2023, after an alarm was triggered. Surveillance video showed a burglar attempting to break into the restaurant around 4 a.m. When they couldn't get in through the back door, they forced themselves in through the front door.
The burglar drove a black Jeep Grand Cherokee, which police learned was used in a burglary in Shelton earlier the same day.
Police eventually discovered it was connected to multiple break-ins across Connecticut and in Rhode Island and Massachusetts – tying it to Hemingway.
Using cell phone and other data, investigators determined that the night of the Biagio Osteria, the Jeep had been to five cities and towns – three of which, including Stratford, had break-ins around the same time.
According to the arrest warrant, the Jeep left Glastonbury around 10:30 p.m. and arrived early the next morning near Porky’s Café in Shelton, which was broken into about the same time. Around 2:30 a.m., the vehicle was in the area of Trattoria Roma in Monroe, where another burglary was reported.
The vehicle then went to Easton around 3:30 a.m., arriving at Biagio’s in Stratford around 3:50 a.m.
Hemingway, a police officer in New Britain before transferring to Glastonbury, has been charged with burglaries in Wethersfield, Old Saybrook, East Hampton, and Shelton. As of Friday, he has not been charged with the Monroe burglary.
In the Shelton arrest, he is facing charges of burglary, larceny, and criminal mischief.
The 37-year-old former cop is also suspected of burglaries in Glastonbury, but he has not been charged yet. He is being held on more than $1 million bond at Corrigan-Radgowski Correction Facility.
After his initial arrest, the Glastonbury Police Department issued a statement saying the officers were feeling a "mix of embarrassment and anger."
