The driver who rear-ended a car on Route 8 in Beacon Falls in February, which killed two children and an adult, has been arrested, according to Connecticut State Police.
State police arrested William Kundert, 40, of Oxford on Thursday.
Kundert has been accused of rear-ending a Honda Civic on the left shoulder of Route 8 North near Exit 23 on the afternoon of Feb. 4.
The Civic was driving slowly along the left shoulder when Kundert's Ford F600 went into the left lane and shoulder and hit the guardrail and the Civic, state police said.
The crash killed Andresa De Brito Alves, 25, and two children, ages 3 and 6.
Witnesses and 911 callers reported seeing the truck speeding and driving erratically before and after the crash, according to the arrest warrant.
Kundert was charged with manslaughter, assault, DUI, failure to maintain proper lane, reckless driving, not wearing a seat belt. He was held on a $1 million bond and was scheduled to appear in court Friday.
