WETHERSFIELD, Conn. — A group home staff member is out of a job and has been arrested for assaulting a resident multiple times, sending them to the hospital.
Kendra Demudd, 24, of Hartford turned herself in to police Wednesday in connection to an assault that took place at a HARC, Inc. group home at 50 Eastern Drive last month.
Police determined that a staff member assaulted a 28-year-old woman, who is non-verbal and autistic, multiple times on the morning of Oct. 13.
The woman had multiple cuts on her head and face and a nose fracture, sending her to the hospital.
Demudd and another employee were fired after the incident, police said. The assault was reported to police and an investigation was launched.
Demudd was charged with assault of person with intellectual disability, reckless endangerment and cruelty to persons. She was held on a $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court later Wednesday.
