Man killed, 17-year-old wounded in Middletown shooting

Police are on the scene at Stirling Court where an argument escalated into shooting. Police are searching for a white Acura.

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. — Police in Middletown say one man was killed and a teenager wounded when a fight escalated into a shooting on Sunday morning. FOX61 was first on the scene of the deadly confrontation in the Westfield section of town. 

Police responded to an altercation in the area of Highlands Crescent and Stirling Court at 11 a.m. Prior to police arrival, the incident escalated to a "shots fired" call. When officers arrived, they found one adult male was killed in the shooting, and a 17-year-old male was injured and rushed to the hospital where he is in stable condition. 

The names of the deceased man and injured teenager are not being released at this time as detectives work to notify the families.

Police say the people involved appear to know one another, and it appears to be an isolated incident with no known threats to the public or residents in the area.

Middletown Police want to talk to the driver of a white 2017 Acura seen leaving the scene of a deadly shooting on Sunday, May 16, 2021.

A 2017 Acura ILX, color white, bearing CT plate BB42726 was seen leaving the area. Middletown Detectives are looking to speak with the driver of this "vehicle of interest."
