NORWALK, Conn. — Over two hours after the Norwalk Police Department asked people to shelter in place as they dealt with an armed subject, they announced that two people have died from gunshots.
Shortly after 5 p.m., police posted a message on social media saying they were dealing with an armed subject in the vicinity of Chatham Drive. "This is an active and dangerous situation. Residents in the area are asked to shelter in place." Chatham Drive is just south of I-95, near Exit 14.
Around 7 p.m. they said there was no longer a threat and residents could safely return home. They then confirmed that two people had died in the incident, both from gunshot wounds. Police have not yet identified the two people or the circumstances that led to their deaths.
