NORWICH, Conn. — A 46-year-old man has died after a shooting at an apartment complex in Norwich late Sunday night, police said Monday.
Norwich police officers responded to a reported shooting at Mohegan Commons, an apartment complex at 90 North Street, just after 9:30 p.m. Sunday.
The victim, identified as 46-year-old Darnell Thomas of New York, had been shot and was taken by ambulance to William Backus Hospital, where he ultimately died from his injuries.
Police said Monday that the shooting incident appears to be a targeted attack against the victim and have declared it a homicide. They are looking for any perpetrators of this incident, who fled the area. Officials said Thomas frequented the Norwich area.
The investigation is ongoing and no further information can be released at this time. The identity of the victim will be forthcoming once proper notification is made to his family, police said.
