On October 15 police received a report of a sexual assault incident, involving a minor. The young girl told police that on September 28, she was walking home when she was lured into a vehicle driven by a male suspect, later identified as Michael Dewitt, 45, of Seymour.
Police said that while she was inside the vehicle, Dewitt sexually assaulted the victim.
According to police, she was not injured.
Detectives were able to obtain an arrest warrant on October 25, charging Dewitt with Sexual Assault in the First Degree, Sexual Assault in the Fourth Degree, Commercial Sexual Abuse of a Minor
Police said they had previously served Dewitt with an active arrest warrant in connection with another, separate sexual assault investigation involving a minor, which occurred on October 9 in Waterbury.
In that incident a female victim was also lured into a pickup truck owned by Dewitt where she was sexually assaulted.
Dewitt is currently being held on a $550,000 bond and is scheduled to be served with this warrant at his scheduled court date Thursday, with a court ordered bond in the amount of $750,000.
