NORTH STONINGTON, Conn. — An 18-year-old allegedly used a septic tank to "ram" into a state police cruiser while troopers were responding to a call in North Stonington on Friday evening.
Troopers were called to Norwich Westerly Road around 5 p.m. for a report of an "active disturbance" after a woman called 911 to report she was in an altercation with her 18-year-old son.
Arriving troopers confronted Donovan Beard, 18, of Norwich, who was driving a septic truck he illegally got into, state police said. The septic truck hit a trooper's cruiser before a foot chase took place, according to state police.
State police then caught Beard and he was detained.
No injuries were reported, state police said.
Beard was charged with two counts of criminal mischief, larceny, interfering with an officer, breach of peace, criminal attempt to assault, and reckless endangerment. He was held on a $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 8.
