MASHANTUCKET, Conn. — Foxwoods Resort Casino has announced the grand opening of Club Newport, a luxurious high-limit gaming destination that could redefine high-stakes gaming in the United States, according to a release from the casino.
Club Newport is located in the Grand Pequot Casino, which is designed to offer patrons an “unmatched gaming experience, with state-of-the-art gaming, luxurious surroundings and unparallel VIP services,” the release said.
A special ribbon-cutting ceremony occurred on the morning of Aug. 1 and featured exclusive VIP events and entertainment.
Foxwoods President and CEO Jason Guyot said in the release that Club Newport is symbolic of a significant shift in high-limit gaming in the U.S. At Foxwoods, he said it sets a new standard for luxury and exclusivity.
“This groundbreaking new space is designed to cater to our most distinguished guests, ensuring they experience the pinnacle of our award-winning customer service and gaming offerings. As the premier gaming destination on the East Coast, we are excited to provide unparalleled opportunities that only Foxwoods can offer,” Guyot said in the release.
In Club Newport, there are 35 high-limit table games. These include Mini-Baccarat, Blackjack, Craps, Pai-Gow Poker, Pai-Gow Tiles, Roulette and Face-Up Pai Gow. Two exclusive, private-themed salons have also been added, offering additional games.
These spaces feature a “revival of the traditional large-style baccarat game, which is becoming an exceedingly rare offering in most casinos today,” the release said.
The newly designed club also enhances Foxwoods’ valued table games, promising players an elevated gaming experience, according to the casino.
A striking gold vaulted ceiling supported by elegant bronze arches and a custom ombre burgundy class fixture awaits players as they enter the main gaming area. Linear chandeliers hang from the club’s raised ceilings, and “warm pearlescent” wallpaper wraps the room, trimmed with a cream and gold base and crowned with gold and glass trim, as is described by the release.
“The space also features contemporary edge-lit stone pilasters accented with metallic bronze, creating striking focal points that add a touch of modern sophistication,” the release said. “This high-end, world-class design ensures Club Newport offers an unrivaled level of elegance and opulence, making it a truly unique destination in the U.S.”
Club Newport is the newest project that has enhanced Foxwoods. Notable projects in recent years include the Pequot Woodlands Casino, which sits over 50,000 square feet in the Grand Pequot Concourse; Grace By Nia, the first Black-woman-owned speakeasy-style lounge on the property; Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen, which brings Ramsay’s renowned cuisine to patrons; and Sprinkletown, the first storefront providing customers with offerings from decorated Pastry Chef Zac Young.
