First New Haven resident dies from COVID-19

The individual was a male in his late 50s, New according to the city's Director of Public Health.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. — New Haven officials confirmed Wednesday during a virtual press conference that a resident has died from coronavirus.

New Haven's Director of Public Health, Maritza Bond announced the individual was a male in his late 50s.

According to officials, people who interacted with the man have been advised to self-monitor.

Mayor Elicker confirmed that as of Wednesday, 29 New Haven resident have tested positive for COVID-19.
