HARTFORD, Conn. — Multiple police and fire stations around Connecticut experienced difficulties with receiving 911 calls Tuesday afternoon, but the problem had been resolved by 3:30 p.m.
The outage affected departments around the state. As of 3:30 p,m. 9-1-1 service was fully restored.
The cause of the outage is not known at this time.
According to the Connecticut Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection, at 11:49 a.m., 9-1-1 capability began experiencing issues across Connecticut.
“DESPP is coordinating with partners and working on resolving the issue,’’ said Clayton Northgraves, Director of Statewide Emergency Communications.
“This is a commercial carrier equipment issue. There is not any evidence to indicate a deliberate attack. We do not have confirmation from every municipality that they are having issues, but the issue is being seen across the state.”
This is a developing story.
