WATERBURY, Conn. — A motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian is under investigation in Waterbury.
Police said at 9:30 PM they were called to an accident in the area of Union Street. The caller reported that a car struck a person who was naked party in the road.
Police said the pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment and remains in stable condition. Several witnesses on told officers that the pedestrian jumped out in front of the vehicle before it struck them. The driver of the car that hit the pedestrian remained on scene and is cooperating with officers.
At present, investigating officers believe that the pedestrian may have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol, which led to them walking into the roadway.
