CHESHIRE, Conn. — The Hometown Foundation always sets its sights high to help set the table for families in need during the Thanksgiving holiday.
The Hometown Foundation is the charitable arm of Bozzuto’s Inc., the food service giant that provides products to so many stores up and down the East Coast and each year they make it their mission to gather thousands of turkeys to donate.
“This is kind of our Super Bowl as we refer to it, it is one of the busiest weeks of the year for us,” said Craig Boyle the senior vice president of operations for Bozzuto’s.
Boyle noted that this year, the Hometown Foundation has a goal of delivering 27,500 turkeys to families all over the region.
“We’re moving turkeys all the way from Boston down to Philadelphia, we try to give out as many turkeys as possible to as many people who need it this year,” he said.
Jenn McCullough, the assistant director at the Hometown Foundation said this shows families there are people willing to help.
“For us to be able to have a small part in bringing families together and bringing the community together to show families in need that there are people willing to help them really means so much to all of us,” she said.
Boyle added that fulfilling Thanksgiving wishes is a highlight for him each year.
“We take a lot of pride and joy in what we do to make sure we are there for people that we serve,” he said.
