Update: Body discovered in burning car in Hartford identified

The victim was identified as a Chicopee, Massachusetts. He was part of a missing person investigation in Mass.

HARTFORD, Conn. — On Monday, December 28th, the Hartford Police Department released a statement saying that twenty-eight years old Francisco Ramon from Chicopee, Massachusetts, was identified as the person inside a 2010 Black Acura TDX that had been set on fire. 

Hartford firefighters called to the scene of a car fire found a body in the burning vehicle on Saturday.

Fire officials say they were called to the scene of an unoccupied vehicle fire at 129 Shultas Place in the South End of the city about 8:39 p.m. on Saturday. After the car fire was extinguished, a body was discovered in the back seat. 

The Fire Marshal's Office and Hartford Police are handling the investigation.

Police say Ramon was a missing person in a case being investigated by Chicopee Massachusetts and Massachusetts State Police. 

The Hartford Police Department is working in conjunction with the Chicopee Massachusetts and Massachusetts State Police in this investigation. Anyone with information is to call 860-722-TIPS (8477).
