ORANGE, Connecticut — Orange Police responded to a fatal shooting at the Town Fair Tire store at 63 Boston Post Road Saturday morning.
Police responded to the store at 8:50 a.m. for a report of gunshots. They found a man in one of the service bays with multiple gunshot wounds. The person was pronounced deceased on the scene by the medical personnel.
Saturday night, Orange Police identified both men. The victim has been identified as Joshwua Figueroa, age 27, of New Haven. Police say he was shot multiple times by the suspect, 24-year-old Terrance Allen, also of New Haven. The nature of the dispute and the relationship between the two men is still under investigation.
Police say Allen was working as an employee of Town Fair Tire when he was confronted by the victim. He immediately fled the scene after the shooting. Police say they were able to contact Allen by phone shortly after the shooting, but he failed to turn himself in.
With the assistance of the Branford Police Department, Allen was safely taken into custody at a local hotel just after 9:00 pm Satuday on an outstanding warrant out of New Haven for Violation of Probation and on weapons charges related to the earlier incident at Town Fair Tire. The investigation into the shooting is continuing.
A senior vice president for Town Fair Tire said the company had no comment.
