A Connecticut chef smoked the competition on Food Network’s ‘Chopped’.
West Hartford native and former Barcelona Wine Bar chef Adam Greenberg proved he can stand the heat in the kitchen and survive the chopping block.
Greenberg appeared on last night’s episode themed ‘Late Night Food Brawl’. Competing against four other chefs vying for the culinary top spot .
The episode was filmed earlier this year but aired last night. This was Greenberg’s first national television appearance.
In each of the three rounds, contestants were given a basket filled with secret ingredients and they had to use all of them to come up with an appetizer, entree and dessert. Each round lasted 20 minutes.
Advancing to the final dessert round, Greenberg opened the basket of mystery ingredients and pulled out, among other things, a rice and cheese burrito.
It proved it be a piece of cake for the chef.
Greenberg ended up winning the last matchup. Going home with the $10,000 top prize and the title of ‘Chopped Champion’.
