Male victim walks into local hospital for non-fatal shooting in Hartford

Hartford police responded to a non-fatal shooting by Wethersfield Avenue early Sunday morning.

HARTFORD, Conn — A man is recovering after a shooting in Hartford, according to the city's police department Sunday.

Hartford police responded at 2:35 a.m. to 703 Wethersfield Avenue with reports of gunshot sounds in the area. 

Officers said they found evidence of gunfire at the location but there was no victim. 

According to police, a male walked into a nearby hospital suffering from a non-fatal gunshot wound around 4:50 a.m. 

The Major Crimes Division arrived at the hospital to investigate and confirmed the victim sustained the injury on Wethersfield Avenue.
