Connecticut State Police respond to 3,845 calls over Thanksgiving holiday

State police also responded to 339 crashes and made 22 DUI arrests statewide between Nov. 27-29.

CONNECTICUT, USA — Connecticut State Police responded to thousands of calls over the Thanksgiving holiday, which they said began on Wednesday, Nov. 27 and lasted through Friday, Nov. 29. 

Throughout the three-day window, state police handled 3,845 calls for service and made 845 traffic stops across the state.

In addition to regular patrols, state police provided traffic-related services in 257 instances, assisting with debris removal and aiding disabled vehicles in different parts of Connecticut.

The holiday period also saw 339 motor vehicle crashes, 19 of which resulted in injuries, including one serious injury. One fatal crash occurred on Thanksgiving.

State police also made 22 arrests for driving under the influence. In a release, they reminded the public to exercise caution and avoid impaired driving during the busy travel period, which continues through Sunday.
