Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run in Waterbury

A woman was killed in a hit-and-run on East Main Street in Waterbury around 10 p.m.

WATERBURY, Conn. — According to police, officers responded to a hit-and-run around 10 p.m. on 603 East Main Street in Waterbury.

When officers arrived, they said they found Michelle Trausch, 36, of Norwich who had been hit while crossing the street. She was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital and died shortly after.

The driver of the vehicle fled the scene.

The Waterbury Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit is currently investigating the accident. There are no further details currently.
