MONTVILLE, Conn. — Connecticut State Police said Wednesday that they have charged a corrections officer with an assault on a 66-year-old inmate.
Todd Blevons, 42, turned himself into Eastern District Major Crime Detectives at Troop E- Montville. He was charged with Assault Third Degree on an Elderly Person. Blevons was released on a $25,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at Norwich Superior Court on December 5.
The warrant for Blevons stemmed from an investigation which began in April 2024 in which Blevons was alleged to have used excessive force against an inmate at Corrigan Correctional Center in Montville. According to the warrant, the 66-year-old male inmate was stopped outside the cafeteria, and after being searched was thrown to the ground as Blevons and other correctional officers jumped on him. He received a cut near his eye and broken ribs. Surveillance cameras nearby recorded the incident.
