FAIRFIELD, Conn — Two people were killed in a crash on Interstate 95 northbound late Thursday in Fairfield, according to Connecticut State Police.
William Foster, 75, of Bridgeport, and Fred Eugene Nimmon, 70, of Aspers, Pennsylvania, were killed in the crash that involved two cars and a tractor-trailer.
Police said the three vehicles were traveling northbound on I-95 near Exit 22 when a Chevrolet Impala driven by Foster spun out and hit the center jersey barrier. It came to a stop in the center lane where it was hit by a BMW. Foster was ejected from the Chevrolet.
A tractor-trailer, driven by Nimmon, struck the Chevrolet and that sent the truck into the jersey barrier. Nimmon was ejected from the vehicle onto the other side of the highway. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the BMW was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
