MONROE, Connecticut — Monroe police have arrested a suspect in the bomb threats made against three water company locations last month.
Jamar Wade, 35, was charged last week with Threatening in the First Degree and Falsely Reporting an Incident in the First Degree.
He was unable to post a bond of $250,000 and was scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday.
Police said on December 20 they were called to the Aquarion Water Company, 200 Monroe Turnpike, in Monroe. for a report of a bomb threat. An Aquarion customer service representative said they took a phone call from a man who claimed to have placed bombs in all three Aquarion Water Company buildings, one in Monroe and two in Bridgeport.
The caller said he was employed by Aquarion until he was laid off.
The building in Monroe was evacuated before the arrival of emergency crews. The Stamford Police Bomb Squad arrived at Aquarion and assisted in the investigation. Stamford Bomb Detecting Dogs searched the building and found nothing suspicious.
