BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — A woman has died and a man was injured in a shooting in Bridgeport overnight Saturday, according to police. Now, officers are trying to find the ones responsible.
Bridgeport police got a ShotSpotter alert around 2:30 a.m. of shots fired near the intersection of Stratford and Carroll Avenues. City residents reported to police they heard multiple shots fired and saw two people shot.
Responding officers found a 28-year-old Bridgeport woman lying on the sidewalk on the 1300 block of Stratford Avenue. She was unresponsive and was pronounced dead on scene, police said.
Officers learned of a second shooting victim, a 30-year-old Bridgeport man, who had arrived at an area hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. He is in critical condition, police said.
Police believe there were multiple shooters involved.
