WESTPORT, Conn. — Following an investigation, a Bridgeport man was arrested on Monday and charged with second-degree breach of peace after an incident occurred at Minute Men Cleaners on Riverside Avenue in Westport, according to Westport police.
Police said the incident occurred on March 27 around 5:10 p.m. at the full-service dry cleaners and laundry company.
The complainant, an employee of the company, alleged they had an altercation with a customer, who was later identified as 62-year-old Glenn Leonard, police said.
According to police, the employee reported that Leonard was allegedly attempting to retrieve items from the business but did not agree with the price that the business was charging. Police said that Leonard allegedly claimed the price quoted was lower than the price charged and began to argue with the employee.
After the employee attempted to end the argument and put the items back, Leonard allegedly grabbed the items, causing minor injuries to the complainant, police said, noting that Leonard then left the store.
A warrant was issued for Leonard’s arrest on Monday, and he turned himself in to Westport police, where he was charged, police said.
According to police, Leonard was released after signing a Promise to Appear. His court date is May 29 at Stamford Superior Court.
