DANBURY, Conn. — A 63-year-old Brookfield man was sentenced to prison on Thursday for a 2018 sexual assault in Danbury, according to a release from the state’s Division of Criminal Justice.
Yong Sik Kim received a five-year prison sentence, execution suspended after 27 months served, and 15 years of probation, the release said. It noted that evidence at trial revealed that Kim sexually assaulted a co-worker at the victim’s residence, and prosecutors introduced DNA evidence to corroborate the victim’s assertions.
On Feb. 14, Kim was found guilty by a jury in Danbury Superior Court for third-degree sexual assault and third-degree assault of an elderly person, according to the release.

Kim’s five-year prison sentence, with its execution suspended after 27 months, was relative to the third-degree sexual assault count, while he received a 364-day sentence relative to the third-degree assault on an elderly person; that sentence will run concurrent to the sexual assault count, the release said.
