BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — The man accused of an attack that killed a 6-year-old boy and injured his mother and 4-year-old brother has pleaded "not guilty" to the charges, and once again stirred up unruly behavior in the courtroom.
Abdulrahim Sulaiman, 38, pleaded "not guilty" to several charges for the attack, including murder with special circumstance and is asking the court for a jury trial.
He attacked the kids and their mother with a baseball bat and jumped out the apartment window back in September, police said. Police got a 911 call from a neighbor and responding officers found Sulaiman with blood on him while walking in front of an apartment building on Main Street.
In a previous court appearances, Sulaiman spat in the courtroom and assaulted judicial marshals, resulting in him wearing a spit mask.
He told the judge he would remain calm in court this time, but after he spotted the victim's family, he yelled "Any day, I'll expose you any day." The family shouted back, calling him a coward.
If convicted, Sulaiman faces life in prison without the possibility of parole.
At the time of the attack, Sulaiman was on probation for risk of injury, assault on a police officer and a violation of a protective order. He served seven years in prison in New Jersey for aggravated assault.
He is due back in court on Nov. 25.
