DANBURY, Conn. — High-speed, fiber internet will be coming to Danbury in early 2025.

GoNetspeed announced last Wednesday that the City of Danbury will join its high-speed, symmetrical internet through a $7.6 million investment that the company has privately funded.

Construction is slated to begin early next year.

When construction is completed, approximately 14,300 homes and businesses in Danbury will have access to what GoNetspeed describes as “future-proof” fiber.

“Our service is designed to make life better and faster,” GoNetspeed Chief Operating Officer Tom Perrone said. “We are proud to be bringing our network to another deserving Connecticut community. With access to 100% fiber internet, Danbury will be equipped with an infrastructure that will create a better online experience through a network that is also prepared to take on the growing demands of more bandwidth ready to support more devices.”

More than 40 communities in Connecticut currently have access to GoNetspeed’s service. The company says that many more will soon join the ranks.

GoNetspeed’s fiber networks exist in nine states, including Connecticut. With access to 100% fiber internet, GoNetspeed says customers have access to symmetrical upload and download speeds, ranging from 500 Mbps to 2 Gbps (2,000 Mbps).
