Teen riding motorcycle killed in Stamford crash: Police

The teen tried to stop his motorcycle, but could not and hit the front end of the car, police said.

STAMFORD, Conn — A teen died Friday after a car hit the motorcycle he was riding on, according to Stamford police.

Police were called to the intersection of Lockwood Avenue and William Street around 9:13 p.m. Friday for a report of a crash.

Police determined that on Lockwood Avenue, a Stamford 17-year-old going northbound on a motorcycle and a 58-year-old Stamford resident in a Toyota Corolla going southbound collided as the Toyota tried to turn left onto William Street.

The teen tried to stop his motorcycle, but could not and hit the front end of the Toyota, police said.

He was taken to an area hospital where he later died, officials said. Police did not release his name due to his age.

The Toyota driver stayed on scene and cooperated with the investigation, police said.
