NORWALK, Conn. — Two minors were stabbed and sent to the hospital while at the Norwalk Oyster Festival on Friday evening, and another minor was arrested, according to city police.
Police said officers saw a "disturbance" on the Oyster Festival grounds, which was in the area of Fort Point Street and Seaview Avenue.
Police discovered that two minors were injured from stab wounds; Both were given aid at the scene before being taken to Norwalk Hospital. Their current conditions are not known at this time.
A male minor was arrested at the scene, police said. He was charged with two counts of assault; one in the first degree and one in the second degree.
While waiting for arraignment, the arrested minor is being held at the Juvenile Detention Center in Bridgeport, police said.
Police said this was not a random incident and that the suspect and victims knew each other. Anyone with information on the stabbings is asked to call the Norwalk Police Detective Bureau at 203-854-3111.
