STAMFORD, Conn. — A Stamford elementary school teacher allegedly sexually assaulted 12 female students, Stamford police said on Friday.
Andrew Clark, 33, is accused of making inappropriate physical contact with 12 female students at Strawberry Hill School on Strawberry Hill Avenue. The police department reports that its Family Services Unit executed a search and seizure warrant at 115 Fillow St. #60 in Norwalk on Friday.
Police say the search stemmed from a long investigation related to 12 juvenile victims reporting inappropriate touching by a male teacher, all of whom were female students.
The Department of Children and Families alerted the Family Services Unit of the alleged misconduct on Feb. 23, which police say sparked the investigation. Police have been in contact with the Stamford Public Schools superintendent’s office throughout the investigation.
Each student who said she was inappropriately touched underwent a forensic interview during which they revealed details of their encounters with Clark, police say.
Clark was arrested and charged with 12 counts of fourth-degree sexual assault and 12 counts of risk of injury. His bond was set at $175,000, and he will be due in court on Monday.
The investigation remains ongoing pending more victims and the results of the searched items. Capt. Eugene Dohmann and Lt. Jerry Jones of the Stamford Police Department thanked investigators who “spent countless hours investigating the details of this case.”
