STAMFORD, Conn. — OSHA and Stamford police are investigating the death of a worker who was hit by a front-end loader at a private business Wednesday.
According to police, the incident happened at 8:13 a.m. Wednesday as the victim, a 64-year-old Stamford resident, was working in the rear of the business and helping a customer.
Police said a front-end loader, operated by a 28-year-old Stamford resident, hit and injured the victim for an unknown reason.
The Stamford Fire Department, EMS and Hospital Emergency Department attempted measures to save the victim, who was later taken to the Stamford Hospital and pronounced dead.
OSHA was called and is the "main investigating body," police said. The Stamford Police Department will assist in their investigation.
Police are asking anyone with information regarding the investigation to contact the Stamford Police Department's Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad at 203-977-4712.
