NEW CANAAN, Conn. — A Florida man died in a crash Tuesday afternoon on Route 15 in New Canaan according to State Police.
Frank Brantner, 85, of St. Petersburg, Florida died in the crash.
Troopers were called to the area near Exit 36 on the Merritt Parkway, Route 15 Northbound at 3 p.m. for a report of a crash involving four vehicles.
Police said two pickup trucks, a Ford F-150 and a Chevrolet Silverado, were traveling side by side on the parkway when a Kia Forte slowed in the right lane behind one of the trucks. A Lexus driven by Brantner struck the Kia, which in turn struck the trucks. Brantner was unresponsive at the scene and later was pronounced dead at Norwalk Hospital.
