DANBURY, Conn. — Stew Leonard's in Danbury is voluntarily recalling its Chocolate Chunk Banana Bread, which may contain undeclared walnuts, a spokesperson said Thursday.
The Danbury store was the only location that sold units of the product between Sept. 26-Oct. 2, the spokesperson said. Thirty-nine units were sold.
The store began the recall after a customer found a loaf of the banana bread that had walnuts in it despite having no label about the walnuts, according to the spokesperson.
The product poses a risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction to anyone with an allergy or severe sensitivity to walnuts, the spokesperson said.
The store has not currently received any reports of illnesses.
Anyone who purchased the bread is asked to throw it away or return it to the Danbury store's customer service desk for a full refund.
