GROTON, Conn. — A Groton man was arrested on Thursday after police found a video in his phone where he was allegedly sexually assaulting a minor.
On Friday, April 14, 2023, Michael Landon was arrested and charged with voyeurism with malice, disseminating voyeuristic material, and injury or risk of injury to or impairing the morals of children after an extensive investigation.
Following that arrest, Groton Police arrested Landon on two counts of Possession of an Assault Weapon.
During the course of the initial arrest, Groton Police Department, Criminal Investigation Division members seized cell phones and other digital media from Landon.
With a court-approved search and seizure warrant for the devices and an extensive search, CID discovered illicit sexual content on Landon’s cell phone. The video included Landon subjecting a minor to sexual acts, according to police.
CID members applied for an arrest warrant for Landon. It was approved and issued by New London Superior Court on June 28. That same day at around 2:36 p.m. Groton CID members, with assistance from Adult Probation and the Ledyard Police Department, found Landon on Patricia Court in Ledyard where he was arrested.
Landon was held on a $1,000,000.00 bond at the Groton Police Department and was to be arraigned in New London Superior Court on June 29.
