WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn. — According to airport officials, about a dozen flights were impacted after a power outage took place at Bradley International Airport on Sunday evening. The power has since been restored.
The Connecticut Airport Authority said that at 6 p.m., Bradley had a power loss in Terminal A, which is its main terminal. The power was restored at 6:50 p.m. when normal operations were able to resume.
The cause of the outage is under investigation, according to the CAA. The outage took place as a severe thunderstorm warning and tornado watch was issued for parts of the state, although it is unclear if they are related at this time.
The Windsor Locks Fire Department said in a Facebook post at 6:30 p.m. that they were assisting the airport with the "after effects" of the outage.
A full list of affected flights can be found on Bradley Airport's website here. Travelers at the airport are advised by the CAA to contact their airline for information on the status of their flight.
Up to 10,290 power outages across Connecticut were reported by Eversource Sunday as of 10:50 p.m., with a majority in Marlborough (2,096), Southington (1,938) and East Hampton (1,905).
As of 4 a.m. Monday, the number has gone down to 2,524 statewide.
