BERLIN, Conn — It’s fair season in Connecticut, and people in Berlin say its town's fair is a tradition, and missing school is all a part of it.
“We miss school for the fair every year because they want us to have the day off to spend time with our friends,” Addie Mongillo said, adding that sleeping in and hanging out with friends on the fairgrounds is the best part.
For others, coming to the fair is a tradition.
“I grew up in Berlin, so I’ve been coming to the fair since I was really little,” Aleah Ellis said. “I mean, I had the day off when I was a kid, so I’m bringing my daughter back and having a great time.”
With so much to see and do throughout the Berlin fairgrounds, it’s no wonder people are excited to experience their favorite things.
For Matthew Vigone, it’s getting involved.
“My favorite part is missing school and volunteering at my church booth,” he said.
His friend Ty Pozo said being with friends and socializing with everyone he knows is awesome.
Ellis said she enjoys the food, all the rides, the people and seeing friends from the past.
FOX61 is proud to be a media sponsor again this year for the Berlin Fair. If you’re planning on coming out, be sure to stop by the FOX61 tent located inside the fairgrounds and say hello and win some fun prizes.
